LEADERSHIP TEAM

Anssi Okkonen became CEO of Elisa Polystar in late 2020, having joined the board following the company’s acquisition by Elisa in 2019. He has extensive experience in the industry, gained from operators, contact center software business and new business development. Prior to joining Elisa Polystar, Anssi held the position of Vice President of Business Development for Elisa’s Corporate customer business.

Georgios Baltoglou joined Elisa Polystar’s executive team in 2022. Combining deep technical and business expertise with more than 15 years’ of experience in the telecom and IT sectors, Georgios has held key positions in the Services department since 2013. In his current role, Georgios oversees all service deliveries in pursuit of operational excellence and outstanding customer satisfaction, while securing that our customers gain the most value from our solution portfolio.

Jan Öhman co-founded OSIX AB in 1998, and was the company CEO until early 2011. After having spent 3.5 years’ as COO and Deputy CEO at another fast-growing software company, Jan re-joined Elisa Polystar in September 2014. As the CISO, Jan has overall responsibility for information security, he is in charge of the company’s ISO certifications and he is a member of the Leadership Team. Further, HR, Legal, Quality & processes and Procurement are functions reporting to Jan.

Katja Forss-Ormio is an experienced CFO, having held leadership positions within the ICT industry for more than 20 years. Her roles have covered finance, business planning, and operations in international companies. Prior to joining Elisa Polystar, Katja held roles in Microsoft, KPNQwest and EUnet, and most recently at Elisa as VP Finance and CFO for Elisa Videra, another Elisa group company.


Kirsi Valtari is Chief Strategy Officer at Elisa Polystar. She has spent the majority of her career in the telecom industry, developing software-based businesses, telecom operations, and technologies. With a strong technology and operations background, Kirsi has succeeded with developing several new businesses. Today, Kirsi’s team is combining AI, network engineering and software to implement world-class telco software for mobile operators.

Mikko Pokkinen was appointed to the position of Head of Worldwide Sales for Elisa Polystar in 2022. Previously, he held international sales management positions in APAC and Central Europe, covering the networking, OSS and BSS domains. Mikko built his leadership and sales experience from engagements with companies such as Nokia Networks and Amdocs, and uses deep understanding of the customer’s business to deliver value.

Niklas Berglind has over 18 years’ of experience in the telecommunication industry. During his tenure, he has held several senior management positions, such as Product Manager and Senior Systems Manager. Today, Niklas is Executive Vice President of Development, holding responsibility for the development and maintenance of Elisa Polystar’s products.

With over 25 years of experience in the Telco industry, Steve is an accomplished CEO who previously held executive and non-executive board roles in global companies, overseeing growth and exits. He served as CEO and board member of Norconsult Telematics, a telco services and software solution company with global operations, and played a crucial role in Aircom International’s global expansion from a few offices to 18, resulting in two exits.

Thomas Nilsson has over 20 years of experience from the telecommunication & IT industries. During his time in Elisa Polystar, he has held a number of management positions within the company, including Chief Technology Officer. As Chief Product Officer, Thomas oversees development of the entire Elisa Polystar product portfolio and outlines its strategy direction.

Thomas Rowland has more than 25 years’ experience in the telecom industry, having begun his carrier with Ericsson in 1993 as an engineer. He held a number of roles during two periods of tenure with Ericsson, both in Sweden and also in overseas locations. Thomas joined Elisa Polystar in 2007. Since then, he has occupied several positions, spanning Professional Services, Operations and Finance, before assuming his current role in 2020.

Toni Pirinen joined Elisa Polystar’s Leadership Team in 2023. He is an experienced IT executive with over 20 years of experience in working in different IT management positions in medium size and large global organizations. As Chief Information Officer, Toni oversees the company IT organization.
